Machu Picchu tickets and circuits explained

We choose your Machu Picchu circuit around what you want to see, then secure admission, trains and transfers as one plan. Your ticket specifies the route, date and entry time.

Three circuits, different experiences

The official system groups ten routes into three circuits. The broad distinction is panoramic views, a classic archaeological visit, or the lower royal-sector routes. Some routes include mountain walks or other extensions; seasonal availability differs. Official circuits and routes.

CircuitWhat to discuss with us
1 · PanorámicoViews and the specific upper route you want. A panoramic ticket is not the same as a classic citadel visit.
2 · Machupicchu ClásicoA classic visit through the archaeological site. Confirm which of its two routes is being offered.
3 · Machupicchu RealezaLower-sector routes and selected mountain or extension options. Ask exactly what your ticket allows.

Tell us what would make the visit meaningful: understanding the site with a guide, a particular viewpoint, or a more demanding walk. We then match that priority to a route that is available and appropriate. Your proposal names the actual circuit and route so you can see exactly how the visit will work.

The details that need to agree

The official purchase process asks for traveler identity information and a choice of circuit, route, date and time. Check that the name and travel-document details match the document you will use. Ministry of Culture ticket service.

  • Ask to see the exact circuit and route in your confirmed itinerary.
  • Check the entry date against your hotel and rail dates.
  • Allow the transfer and queue time needed to reach the entry point.
  • Keep the confirmation and the required identification accessible on the day.

We confirm your hotel, guide, train and admission together, with each connection checked by our team in Cusco.

Use Tu Boleto, the official sales platform when buying directly. If we are arranging your journey, let us coordinate ticket purchase with the rest of the plan so that a separately purchased slot does not create an impossible train or transfer connection.

Why the overnight plan comes first

Our sample itineraries arrive in Aguas Calientes by train and visit the next day, with two hotel nights so the visit does not have to finish in time for an immediate return to Cusco.

On Signature Peru, you travel in on Day 3, visit Machu Picchu on Day 4 and return toward Cusco on Day 5. The Hiram Bingham can be requested for the return. We confirm its operating day and adjust the Cusco touring time before finalizing hotels and flights.

Three details we check for you

  • For a mountain hike, we request the specific route and permit for that experience.
  • For a second visit, we arrange the required additional admission and entry time.
  • We match your train journey with your chosen admission route before confirming either part.

Our team handles the current requirements and turns your priorities into a coherent journey. For an overview of the place and the hotel plan, visit our Machu Picchu destination guide.
